Most students pick a stream under pressure: a deadline, a parent, a friend group. That is the worst time to make a long decision. The goal is not to lock in your whole life at 15. It is to keep good doors open while you learn more about yourself.

Start with how you think, not what pays

A psychometric test will not tell you your future job. It will give you language for your strengths, your interests, and how you like to work. That language makes the conversation with your parents far easier.

Three questions worth sitting with

• Which subjects make you lose track of time?
• What kind of problems do you enjoy: people, numbers, ideas, or making things?
• What would you try if no one was watching?
